More Tips

  • You will find it much easier if you gather all the information you need before you begin to complete the online form. In some browsers, if you visit another page while completing this online form, the information you've already entered will be deleted when you return to the form!

    It is a good idea to review this form so you know which information to gather and then complete the application.

  • WARNING: Be sure to use the Tab key and not the Enter key when you complete this form, because pressing Enter will submit your incomplete form. You know the form has been submitted properly when a GuestFinder Payment Instructions page displays. You need to follow the instructions on that payment page to complete your application process.

  • After you submit this form, you will need to provide us with at least one of two images in .jpg format. Your organization logo is required. You also have the option of providing the photo of your organization representative, leader, or president. You can either email your image(s) to lorilynbailey@gmail.com with identifying details OR provide us with the URL of where the photos may be located on your own website. More information on this is below.

  • GuestFinder reserves the right to edit your copy, much like a magazine editor would edit it. Applications with poor-quality writing, however, will not be accepted. Copywriting assistance is available for a very reasonable fee.

  • In order to promote its clients, GuestFinder distributes press releases and newsletters and may use other related methods (such as social networking sites) that may include information you provided for your GuestFinder page. By submitting this form, you are giving us permission to redistribute this information.

  • GuestFinder does not accept everyone who applies. If you are applying as an organization, your organization must be a bonafide organization. If you are not sure that your organization is suitable, please email GuestFinder at lorilynbailey@gmail.com or call GuestFinder at (919) 878-9108.

Information To Be Listed on the GuestFinder Page:

ORGANIZATION NAME (Maximum 45 characters)

HEADLINE: This is the first thing a reporter or producer sees. Must include the organization's name. In one short, compelling headline, explain what the organization will offer to a member of the media seeking an interview source.
(Maximum 80 characters)

BACKGROUND:
In no more than 150 to 200 words, explain the purpose of your organization and why it's important for an audience to hear about it. Briefly explain why a radio/TV audience member or a magazine/newspaper reader might be interested in hearing from someone from your organization.

Write it in the third person, e.g. "The organization will share..." This is your opportunity to tell producers and reporters why they should schedule an interview. (Then, in the next section below, you'll be able to share some program and story ideas.
)

NOTE: Please check for errors because what you type is what will appear on the page.

RELATED STORY or PROGRAM IDEAS/TOPICS: In this section, list some story ideas. Think of it this way: What would be the name of a program or story about an aspect of your organization? For example, for a "Dogs for the Deaf" organization, one story might be: "New Resources to Help Keep Your Aging Parents in Their Home." Are there tips your organization can share? A financial expert organization might then include, "Ten Tips for Surviving a Recession." This area is to help a reporter or producer to think of reasons to have you on their show or in their article.

NOTE: Please check for errors because what you type is what will appear on the page.

INTERVIEW OPTIONS : In this section, list the different types of interview sources your organization may be able to provide. Think of yourself as a radio or TV producer or a reporter, and you want the complete story of a topic. For example, a "Dogs for the Deaf" organization may offer the spokesperson of the organization, a trainer of a dog, and a member of a family receiving a dog.
