GuestFinder is www.GuestFinder.com, a
Web-based service designed to make it easy for people who work in the media to find guests
and interview sources. It also provides an inexpensive way for talented professionals to
announce their availability as media guests. It officially began in January of 1997 but
has been online since September, 1996.
- Guests pay a fee to be listed with GuestFinder. In exchange
for an interview, guests wish to be mentioned as a source for any news article or story to
which they contributed.
- Authors would like to be introduced or otherwise identified as
the author of their respective books. For broadcast interviews, especially radio, mention
of an 800 number for ordering the book is also appreciated.
- GuestFinder promotes the site each month to radio
professionals, yet media professionals from newspapers, magazines, and television also use
GuestFinder on a regular basis.
GuestFinder averages 125,000 page impressions ("hits") per month.
- Does GuestFinder list everyone who applies? No. Every effort
is made to list guests who can provide an audience with interesting, informative, and
accurate information.
- GuestFinder does not guarantee whatsoever the qualifications
or services of listed guests.Users of this web site are responsible for making their
own verification checks.
We ask that listed authors who apply for listing with GuestFinder be first listed in the
R.R. Bowker directory of "Books in Print." Entertainers (as well as those listed
under the "More Guests" categories) must have some experience as media guests.
Spokespersons must be the official public relations contact for the listed organization.
Speakers must be members of the National Speakers Association or otherwise professional
speakers. Experts from universities, colleges, hospitals, and other institutions must be
employees of those institutions or be bonafide independent consultants.
Opinions expressed by GuestFinder guests do not necessarily represent those of GuestFinder
owners or management.
- Guests generally do not do college radio or college newspaper
interviews.
- The parent company of GuestFinder is NewsBuzz, Inc. NewsBuzz offers a variety of
cost-effective public relations services for businesses and individuals.
- GuestFinder.com was created by Lorilyn Bailey, author and
publisher of The Original LOVERS' QUESTIONNAIRE Book and The Little Book of
Online Romance. In addition to her work as an author and publisher, Ms. Bailey is also
an instructional designer and develops training materials and is available for
consultation on web design and remodeling. She also has experience as a PBS
writer/features producer, and her educational background is in Communications/Journalism
and Instructional Technology. She is a member of Publishers Marketing Association.
- Ms. Bailey is an experienced media guest and is available for
media interviews regarding questions couples should discuss before they commit--or she'll
be glad to discuss online romance and share her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Internet
(in basic, easy-to-understand terms) with your audience. She can be reached at (919)
878-9108 or by email.
- GuestFinder will delete any listing from the directory and
withhold the listing fee if the person has misrepresented himself or herself in any way or
if he or she does not act reasonably as an interview subject. If you have problems, please tell us.
